I cut my own bangs...I was in one of those moods where something HAD to change and that was all I could do. They are super uneven and need to be fixed, but I can move them around my face and cover up the jagged edges! I just thought I would post up the picture before it changes lol.

Girls Night Out!
FYI--Mandy is wearing the off-white tank.
Amber is in the orange dress.
Erica is in the white shirt.
Cassidy is in the black v-neck.
GNO :)
Amber planned a girls night last weekend and we went to a new Asian food place in Tyler called Wasabi. My cousin Cassidy was in town so she went with us. The food was good, we had a cute waiter, and Mandy was a hoot (as usual). Not much else to say about the night except that I like having a group of girls to go out with and just chat. I do love to talk!
picture happy!
So I deactivated fb and have nowhere to post pictures except here so here it is! I didn't know you had to add the pictures backwards to put them in order so my explanation of pictures starts at the bottom. :)
My mom bought Antonio a tent to play in (he loves to play fort and pretend to camp out) if you come to our house he will ask you to 'wanna find tent?"
next picture is in the tent-and above that is after I got my hair dyed. I like the darker brown...the reddish color just doesn't fit me...in my opinion.
top picture is my mother and I at the powerlifting meet in Alvin! She is just lovely :) I hope I'll be able to post pictures of the "slimmer us" soon. We both want to lose weight for health reasons.

Memorial Day
happy memorial day!
Just got back from a mini-vacation last night and today is a very relaxing day and I'm grateful for it!
Whats happened the past couple of weeks?...not a lot. I babysit two to four days a week. And now I am cleaning the gym since my sister got "fired". That pretty much occupies my time...I try to do some cardio at least 4 days a week and sometimes I do really well (bad weeks too) I have decided to start training again for powerlifting. I will compete in my first meet next Saturday! I haven't done a lot of training but it is my last chance to do a "practice"meet before September when we host a meet at our gym in Gilmer. My goal is to break some records and be like my dad haha! That sounds sooo cheesy, but I am excited. I really need a hobby...I think everyone needs a hobby. I used to dance and twirl, but I like to compete so this seems like a good thing to do.
mini-vacation summary
Erica came with me. And I was so surprised and happy that she did! We've had some issues lately and I have felt so awkward around her. It was nice to road trip with her and enjoy some time together. We drove to Waller, TX to see my cousin Mary. I haven't seen Mary since December and I was beyond excited to see her. Wednesday night we went to her friend's apartment and swam. We chatted and hung out and went home pretty late and crashed. Thursday we got up and went shopping. Of course we did, what girls weekend isnt full of shopping. We were so exhausted and hot but had a good time. Made dinner that night and watched some tv. Friday we hung out at the house until we had to leave. Erica and I left to meet my parents in Alvin that night to end our weekend with them. Saturday was the powerlifting meet and Sunday we drove home. So exciting right? We didn't do a lot but it was a long weekend and I was ready to crash last night.
results of the meet. Dad lifted again for the first time in a while and I was so happy! He tried to bench 601 pounds but missed the lift. He has been trying for a few years to do it and I guess he'll keep trying until he does! He trains two high school students who also competed in the meet. Brianna and QT. They both broke and set new records for Texas and even American records. They are both very dedicated powerlifters and great people. QT graduates this year and got recruited to play footbal for ETBU. Brianna will be a junior next year. I tell everyone they are my dad's adopted children! lol
I know this post is super boring...just wanted to share my weekend.
upcoming events...not a lot. summer is here and I plan on staying cool. It is so hot! I am doing that powerlifting meet next weekend and going to keep doing cardio to burn fat. That is pretty much it for me :) happy summer!!

up in the air
I love to blog. Even when I don't have much to say--so today is one of those days. I just feel like sharing some good energy vibes.
I am not too proud of my grades this semester, but it is entirely my fault. I blew off all my time and chose to sit around and have a few pity parties. I've been hitting this same rut for a while now and I finally seemed to pick myself up a little. I like when everything turns around--but I always get a little nervous that it won't stay good for too long. I've always considereed myself to be a "glass is half-full" kind of girl, but sometimes I have a BAD attitude. I guess it is just one of those things I need to work on.
I said I wanted to feed some good energy and I just complained some more--so typical! lol
I really am excited for my summer and everything I've been contemplating for the near future. I hope I'm able to share some good news soon. I am moving back home sometime this month...I will admit I am taking it slow though. I dont want to give up my church calling yet and I don't want to leave my Tyler singles. I also am not looking forward to driving to Tyler two to four times a week to babysit. I'm thinking about giving that up and finding a job close to home. All of my plans are in the air (and I know what you are thinking-they ALWAYS are) but this time feels different. Anyways-I'm off to watch some tv for a little while before the owners of the house I am "sitting" come back.

7am blog...early!
I just need to say that I am grateful for...
my mother for letting me cry whenever I need to. She always says that I have the right to cry, even if it is something stupid.
my dad who says I need to stop crying over silly things. He always puts things into perspective.
Nicole, my sister. She is always ready to hear my story. She sees that I'm upset and she jumps all over whoever said or did something before she even knows who it is. (she starts raising her voice, "Who was it? Bob? Jessica? Does she know that she is a jerk? and immature..") I laugh every time before I tell her what happened because she is so sweet to jump whoever exactly when I need it!
my Abbey :) my kindred spirit who gets me. It is almost as if you see that I am calling or texting and you know what to say before I even say anything. You get me and that means so much to me.
my health. I have been a little sick lately and probably need to go to the doctor, but for the most part--I have been healthy and able to do whatever I want regardless of weight!
my scriptures. I have been reading every night and it has made all the difference! I am starting to understand more information and I love it.
prayer. I don't know why I stopped doing it all the time. I NEED my talks with God every day (about 3 times a day) or I feel so alone and exhausted.
my blog readers. You are a small number and I feel like this is my little safe haven. I don't care if you don't even read it lol! I just know that it helps me to write these things down. (journal writing has been hard lately since I lost my journal...and typing is much faster)
BTW! I actually typed a long dramatic story about something that happened last night. I could barely sleep because of it and I had nightmares. I typed it all up and felt better until I realized that I was just hurting myself. (Abbey's text from last night helping me with the situation popped into my head) I erased the story and decided I would do the opposite of complain and here it is.
Now I'm off to school to try and pass a test. and a lab final. I am not looking forward to either of them at all!

finals week=yuck
Honestly, I kind of like finals week. It is horrible and great at the same time. I like the relief I feel after every test I take. It seriously feels like someone takes off a brick from my shoulders. (of course-it feels like a whole house is lifted off when I see good final grades!)
I am moving back home to mom and dad's. I decided that the apartment thing wasn't right for me at this time. I don't have a steady job-any kind of income that is sufficient to live on-and I feel like I need to be at home saving money. I cleaned out my savings account during the month of February and I still feel terrible about it. One bad thing about moving back home is my church calling in Tyler. I am the secretary of the Relief Society and I really didn't want to give that up, but I really feel that I should be at home. I am so excited for the YSA branch in Tyler and hope that it continues to grow. I also feel a little guilty about backing out of the apartment. A down payment was made (I am paying back half of it since I was going to have half of the apartment) but I know that something will work out for my friends. I know that I had horrible timing with changing my mind, but better a little late than a few months down the road not being able to pay rent.
I said "I feel" about twelve times in that paragraph. Even if I put aside my feelings--I KNOW that moving back home is going to be best for me.
I applied to be an EFY Counselor for the summer and I am hoping that I get to do at least a couple of sessions. I am going to call BYU on Monday to figure out my interview situation so cross your fingers.
I helped mom clean out the swimming pool today. I did not go to class this morning. My 8 am class didn't meet so it was super hard for me to wake up and go to just one class. I have a few tests on Tuesday and I am not ready for 2 (of 3) but I'll be studying a lot tomorrow and Monday!
House sitting this weekend and actually pretty excited for some alone time. Living with my grandparents the past month has been fun, but they are ALWAYS home lol. I don't feel like I've any time to think or breathe lately so I am excited for some peace. I'm sure one night all by myself in a strange (large) home will change that! I think Erica is going to come stay with me tomorrow night--so I might not have to get scared!
If I don't get to be an EFY counselor-my immediate goal is to get a job in Gilmer ASAP!!!!! I am determined to get my savings account back to where it was before and I want to put some other money aside for something special. Possibly school-possibly a car-possibly rent for a place--possibly a lot of things.
Antonio is so darling! Today he said a complete sentence and I don't think I've ever heard (or realized) before. I was outside running in a circle and he laughed and said, "What are you doing?!" It was so cute. The only other thing he says that is close to a sentence is --I don't wanna. He is very demanding! I think he is a little slow to talking because he is not fully understanding what people (our family--people at daycare) are saying. His dad speaks to him in Spanish and everyone else in English. We think he might be a little confused, but we aren't to the point of worry yet. I guess it is okay for him to be confused. I'm sure I would be if people talked in different laguages to me.
I'm off to bed :) I have to get up a little earlier than I usually do on Saturday :P nighty night
